Hi, let me introduce myself to those who have not met me. I have been an active member in the Dickson electorate since moving from Gladstone in 2004.
I am a member of the Petrie/Lawnton Branch holding several roles throughout my membership with the branch including Chair, Vice-Chair, Branch Secretary, FEC and SEC delegate.
I am the chair of the Kurwongbah SEC, a position I moved into after the demise of the Kallangur Electorate.
Over the years I’ve had many different roles for the Dickson FEC including returning officer, Delegate, campaign committee member and proxy to State Conference.
I have a focus on sustainable, liveable communities that deliver better health, education, employment opportunities and transport outcomes for the working-class people of Dickson.
I’m currently the Assistant National Secretary of the RTBU, however, I am a Train Driver by profession but a union official by election.

My name is Emma and I’m running for Dickson State Conference Delegate. I have lived in the Dickson electorate for most of my life and am now raising my two daughters here as well.
I have come from a background in Early Childhood Education, moving into representing and supporting Early Childhood Educators as an official with the United Workers Union. I believe that our party is only as strong as our members as important participants in our community.
As members, we have an opportunity to advocate for better outcomes for our community through strong Labor governments and inclusive policy. This is why I have campaigned heavily in both state and federal campaigns, most recently working on Ali France’s campaign as the President of the Dickson FEC and helping guide strategy within the campaign.
I am asking for your support so we can ensure that Dickson has a strong voice on the conference floor coming from the grassroots.

Since my last year in high school in 2018, I’ve been an active party member. For the last two years I’ve been a dedicated and active member of the Rural Fire Service, which has allowed me to understand my community and its needs. There is a need for progressive reforms to continue, with further action on climate change, enhancing the public sector and drug law reform.
During the 2022 February Floods, I saw the effects of Climate Change firsthand. Many areas that have never flooded before, flooded, which took a devasting toll on the community. Its time to push the party to support further action on climate change and fund more renewable projects. I’m committed to fighting for these extremely important issues and having the Labor Party become more progressive and democratic. During late 2020, I was Strathpine Branches Secretary, and I’m now the Treasurer. I hear the calls from local branch members that branch delegates need to ensure the party remains democratic and transparent.
I’m committed to fighting to ensure the party remains fully transparent and accessible to everyone.

I am Secretary of the Moreton Bay RMA, Secretary and Treasurer of the Murrumba SEC, a member of the Kallangur Branch social committee. In addition to being involved in the Queensland State election for Murrumba, I was most recently a member of the Dickson Campaign and Events Team. Though we were not successful in the recent Federal election, I was fortunate to campaign for an incredible candidate in Ali and grateful to meet and campaign alongside some incredible people whom I hold in enormously high regard.
Our members in Dickson deserve State Delegates who will show up and do the hard graft when it matters – from fundraising, attending events, campaigning, participating in community-based activities or volunteer work.
A person in a leadership or representative role must set the tone and example, and that includes doing the grunt work. So, for me, running for State Delegate is a continuation of my grassroots involvement within the ALP. If elected, I want to attend Branch meetings across Dickson before State Conference to discuss any concerns or aspirations of Branch members. Likewise, post-State Conference to do a de-brief because ultimately, this is about you.

I am a single mum of two. Throughout my life, I’ve struggled to pay bills, I’ve worked two jobs at times, taken casual work to make ends meet, and rented long term. Now it’s time for me to step up and fight for others facing similar struggles.
Together, we need to bring down the rising cost of living, fight for better job security and equal pay for workers, continue improving the affordability and accessibility of our health system (including mental health and dental health services), and make sure we have strong rental protections for those who can’t afford or choose not to buy their own homes.
I’m asking for your support to stand on these platforms.
I’ve been Secretary of the Narangba Branch and the Kurwongbah SEC for years. I’m a regular attendee at the Moreton Bay RMAs (previously regional conferences) and I had the opportunity to substitute in as a State Conference delegate in 2021. These experiences have helped me learn the ropes when it comes to the policy development process and I’m confident I now have the skills to represent local members at State Conference over the next three years.

I loved being your Candidate for Dickson in the recent federal election and the 2019 election.
Together we have worked tirelessly in Dickson over nearly 5 years and I would love to keep working for you as a state conference delegate.
I was also Labor Enabled Convenor from 2018 to 2020 and am passionate about ensuring disabled people are represented and heard at all levels of our Party, including at state conference.
I live in Arana Hills with my two teenage boys and want to ensure our state team continues to pursue and deliver progressive policies for their future.

I am currently the President of the Kallangur Branch and most recently a part of the Dickson Campaign and events team. My other work in the ALP includes heading up Steven Miles campaigns in Murrumba 2017 & 2020, and being a part of the Petrie FEC for many years before moving to Dickson.
I’m also actively involved in voluntary work within the Dickson community, arranging fundraisers for the Cancer Council and Kidney Support Network annually, sitting on the board of the Kallangur Memorial Bowls Club, and member of local P&C groups.
I have daily communications with the voters of Dickson through my work at the Murrumba Electorate Office and I have first-hand experience dealing with the issues that are facing our community. If I win your support, I intend on focusing on the current housing and homelessness issues as well as domestic violence support in our Queensland Labor Platform. I’m keen to hear from you on what other areas you believe we should be focusing on.
Through my discussions with fellow branch members, I know how much you value communication with your conference delegates. I intend on attending branch meetings with other delegates around the electorate to hear your views.

Comrades, family and friends call me Dan and although I’m new to the ALP, I am not new to fighting for progressive public policy.
Raised in Cairns, I now call Brisbane home.
I have 25 years of experience in the education, government and aviation sectors working as a teacher and policy maker.
In 2020 I contested the seat of Everton in the State election. Together with branchies from Albany Creek, Everton Park and Mitchelton, we delivered a 2.7% swing to Labor.
Committed to gender equality, I’m a member of Left Women, Emily’s List (QLD) and the QLD Labor Women’s Network.
In 2021 I was a member of the ‘Labor for Dignity’ Executive and joined Minister Scanlon’s Office as a Senior Policy Advisor working across waste, koalas and the reef.
Serving and strengthening the community energises me.
Fighting for a fairer and greener future motivates me.
Serving as your State Conference Delegate would be an honour.
