Advocating for Labor values began many years before I was endorsed by Anthony Albanese at the launch of the last State Conference as the Federal Candidate for Groom.

I’m a daughter of generations of unionists, working class, grassroots, rank and file members of the great Australian Labor party.

I’m a proud Labor woman, endorsed candidate & member of EMILY’s List & Multicultural Labor and founder of an award-winning NFP NGO who volunteered full-time for six years advocating for refugee families suffering trauma from political and religious persecution, families from DV and suffering, or at risk of, homelessness.

As a Union Organiser for UWU, and Journalist with decades of professional writing, research, public speaking, strike action, protests and advocacy, and winning the 2018 Social Justice Award behind me, I am ready to be a qualified, strong and honest representative for you at State Conference.

If you would like to discuss this or any community or party issues with me over a coffee, or something else 😀, I can be contacted on 0407 322 075.

Solidarity forever.

In the 10 years I’ve been a party member I have worked tirelessly to advance the ALP in our region. I’ve served as a branch secretary, delegate, treasurer and vice president of Toowoomba South branch. I was a three term Groom FEC president, Western Queensland RMA vice president and currently am the LWN regional convenor.

As a founding member of the Toowoomba and Surrounds LWN, I was also instrumental in getting the 2019 state women’s conference to be held here in Toowoomba as well as many member events with Ministers. I’m a member of the national working group for Labor for Choice and have brought motions through regional conferences. I was Toowoomba South campaign manager in 2015 and candidate in 2017 and 2020 and am constantly striving to build support for the ALP in our area.

Regional voices are vital to Labor in Queensland, and I would be delighted to be one of those voices representing Groom at State conferences.

The ALP is the champion of progressive politics and I would like the opportunity to represent my city and district in Labor Party conferences to help shape its future.

I have held various executive positions in sporting, social and professional settings. I have served as Secretary and Vice President of Toowoomba South Branch ALP, Secretary of the Groom Federal Electoral Council, Western Queensland Regional Members Assembly and have been granted Life Memberships of the Remedial and Support Teachers’ Association and Queensland Teachers’ Union.

Since becoming a member of the ALP, I supported state and federal candidates through all campaigns at prepoll and election day booths as well as market stalls, street stalls, fundraising and community engagement opportunities.

The Labor party represents a way forward for ALL Australians. It is a voice for the disadvantaged people who have been left behind by those with greater means.

I worked with a local community member regarding youth incarceration. I helped draft a motion raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility that was passed at two local branch meetings and presented and passed at a Regional Members Assembly then forwarded to state conference.

Together we will make a difference for a better, fairer society.

I am again nominating as the ALP State Conference Delegate for our Groom Electoral Region.

My commitment is to continue to provide a genuine voice for rank-and-file branch members who are the lifeblood of the Labor party and, to ensure that members have a bigger say in our party.

As a longstanding Vice President of the Toowoomba North Branch and attending local branch meetings has enabled me to support many Labor campaigns.

In the wider community, I am president of Blind Citizens Toowoomba and a member of the Toowoomba Regional Council’s regional access and disability advisory committee. My experience in these positions has enabled me to act as an advocate on disability issues as well as having the knowledge and skills to advocate for broader concerns in the community.

If you are eligible to vote in this upcoming ballot, I would really appreciate your vote or one of your preferences. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my candidacy.

Usually the one behind the camera at events or asking the difficult questions. I’m a proud and dedicated member of my union and the ALP.

I started handing out HTVs in 1996 (well before I joined the ALP in 2013) and haven’t missed an election since. Handing out as passionately for Toowoomba North as I do for Toowoomba South, because above branches comes the advancement of the ALP. I was the founding convenor of the Toowoomba and Surrounds Labor Women’s network and am a current co-convenor, I have been Branch treasurer and am the current campaign convenor for Toowoomba South.

I’m dedicated to social justice and ensuring that members of Groom have their voices heard not only locally but in Brisbane and in Canberra.

The best way to do this is through ensuring a strong voice is sent to conference to amplify the needs and desires of our members in Groom, I believe I am that voice. I am frank and honest with no fear or favour in pushing the interests of our members in Groom and Toowoomba. As a candidate for state conference, it would be my honour to represent our members to get the best outcomes.
