I’m asking for your vote for State Conference because we must keep our Party on track to win again in 2024.

The Left has fought for important economic and social reforms like action on climate change, fighting casualisation, abortion law reform and voluntary assisted dying.

The Left also fought for branch members to get a vote on preselections and key roles in our Party.

You know I work hard. You know I always prioritise hearing from branch members and listening to your views. You know I fought for more GPs for our area and campaign with our unions for a better deal for workers.

Now we have to keep our Party focused on delivering strong environmental reform along with more social housing, local manufacturing and publicly owned renewables.

I’m a progressive voice that stands up for our community and gives Longman and Moreton Bay a voice at the table.

Labor for Housing, Labor for Dignity and Labor for Choice are some of the many organisations I’ve supported to help branch members drive strong policy outcomes.

This year’s State Conference is especially important as we refocus on what’s important for our Labor platform so we can win again in 2024.

I am solid supporter and regular volunteer for our Party with extensive experience working on campaigns for all 3 levels of government.

As a former Regional Field Director of the ALP and a previous council candidate, I am across the local politics of our home electorates as well as the internal politics of our Party. My ongoing aim is to build a stronger branch rank and file for Longman that fosters productive and open engagement within our Party, utilises and acknowledges the skills of our branch members and reaffirms our values as a grassroots movement under an organised united banner.

I was recently a part of launching the Woodford Branch, where I’m Acting Secretary and have focused on upskilling and training our members. I’m passionate about our local area and have spent time working with YJET Morayfield, who do great things in the youth justice space.

As someone who has spent their whole life growing up, attending school, and working in Longman, I was fed up with the Federal LNP Government’s neglect of our community.

In 2019 I joined the Labor party as a volunteer on Susan Lamb’s campaign and have loved every moment of fighting for Labor Governments as a local branch member. During 2020 I was fortunate enough to run the Pumicestone Field Campaign which saw one of the largest volunteer led campaigns in Queensland elect Ali King as our State Member. Recently I supported Rebecca Fanning’s Federal campaign door knocking and phone calling locals whilst also starting a job as a local high school teacher.

As an active member in Longman, I have loved meeting other Labor members and sharing ideas about how we can improve our Party. Through my work teaching high school Math and Science, education and environment reform are my biggest passions. I would love this opportunity to represent you and our wonderful progressive Labor team as your branch delegate.

Since my family and I moved into the Longman electorate in early 2017, I have been an active member in the Narangba branch and am currently a Vice President. I have heavily supported both MPs and candidates at state and federal levels within Longman and the greater Moreton Bay region and am currently a Vice President of the Moreton Bay RMA executive team

As a qualified Electrician, I have been pressured to work in unsafe conditions to “just get the job done” and have had friends suffer from wage theft and workplace injuries. This is why I joined both the ETU and ALP to fight for industrial relations reforms and improve both safety and working conditions for frontline workers.

Key policies which I will also fight to reform include better environmental protection, affordable home ownership, road and rail infrastructure improvements to reduce congestion, more affordable and accessible treatment for mental health, tougher penalties for hit and run drivers and repeat criminal offenders, and more TAFE and university placements for tertiary students both within Moreton Bay and across regional Queensland.

Please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss anything I have mentioned or for any other matters.

Following the dominance of the LNP Government in Queensland for so many years, I joined the Labor Party in 2001. I wanted to work so that we never returned to those dark days and to be a part of a team that would ensure the return of progressive Labor Governments.

I have worked on countless Labor Campaigns – Local, State and Federal. Every election I have supported our candidates by volunteering in every way I could. I’ve street stalled, worked on polling booths, doorknocked, phone banked, fundraised, provided admin support – everything and anything I could do.

I am an active member of the recently formed West Pumicestone Branch and have previously held various committee positions at a local branch level, including secretary, vice president and campaign committee membership.

I have been fortunate to have worked in ministerial and various electorate office positions and am currently the Electorate Officer for the State Member for Pumicestone, Ali King. I love the connection I have with our community and enjoy providing support for the things that matter to them.

Having been a conference delegate in the past, I would love the opportunity to represent our wonderful, committed, and hardworking Longman branch members.

I’m known to most by Angie and a proud mother, wife to Shane King MP, and a local volunteer firefighter with the rural fire brigade where I’ve earned several accolades throughout my over 20 years of service.

Having cared for elderly parents at home, I’m passionate about improving funding for and access to support services to help other Queenslanders facing the challenge of integrating care responsibilities into everyday life.

As a Mum and Grandmother to 5, I recognise the crucial role of early childcare and education services in our children’s lives and will fight to see improvements to access and continued funding growth in these areas.

I’m also committed to consulting members on the best way to tackle housing affordability – for home buyers and renters – and security, recognising women In the over 50 age group are a key demographic for housing policy reforms.

I bring an outer-metropolitan perspective to these issues and more, representing a geographical area where our Labor values are increasingly under assault by fringe-party protesters.

As a long-time Labor member (and political ‘WAG’), I have a strong understanding of policy development and would love the opportunity to stand up for you at State Conference.

I’m the current convenor of Labor Enabled or how I, along with other delegates, were able to push through changes regarding accessibility to conferences both state and nationally, or that because of my 10 + years on Labor Women’s Network, we set up regional groups resulting in greater participation, or how I continue to fight for the policies and inclusion that matter for Labor Women, or how I’ve held branch, FEC, SEC & MEC positions.

We’ve been swamped here in Longman these past few years; there’s been a lot of campaigns, we even had two by-elections (Longman & Council), and we have experienced losses and some brilliant wins. We have seen fantastic legislative changes, making life better for all.

However, I’m most proud of YOU, the rank and file, the heart of OUR party. I love catching up with you and hearing your campaign stories and ideas, bat roadsides, markets, or cafes. It’s a testament to your hard work that we have attracted others to our party so much so that we see our delegates grow from 5 to 7! It’s been an honour to be your Longman delegate this past term, I hope to have your support again.
