I eagerly joined the ALP at 20 years old when I was learning about fairness, justice and equity as a workplace delegate. Some 27 years later, it is still those principles that drive me to do more in my community. I have recently run as a candidate in the seat of Currumbin (x2!). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the difference we made here in Currumbin. I want our party and its policies to make a real difference is people’s every day lives. That is why I want to be your State Conference Delegate.

I am a local born and raised Gold Coaster and believe everyone deserves quality of life, education and equality. I’ve helped lead some of the Gold Coast’s largest community campaigns and will never stop working towards a better future for us here on the Coast. It’s so important that our party advocates for good policies that can address the impacts of homelessness, housing affordability, climate change and the rising cost of living. I have spent the past 5 years working as an Electorate Officer for Senator Murray Watt and have seen when good government policies deliver for the community and when poor government policies fail. I will always stand up and work towards a Labor Party that is representative, engaged, and progressive.

It gives me great pleasure to stand for a fourth time as a delegate to the Queensland Labor party state conference to represent McPherson. I have been an active member of our party for almost 11 years. I have proudly served Burleigh branch as both Vice President and also President.

Since I was originally elected I have actively supported the reform of our party at all levels to encourage increased input from ordinary members in all party elections and policy decisions. This will only strengthen our party.

I have also supported policies that put people before profit, and I have been a strong advocate for giving a voice to the voiceless.

The last LNP government showed clearly just how determined they are to support policies which enable the strong to dominate the weak and the rich to devour the poor. I am committed to supporting policies to enable our new Labor government to make our world a fairer place for this generation and the next. It is for this reason I again ask for your vote.

I joined the Labor party in 2017 and subsequently became a founding member of the Tugun Branch where I currently hold the position of V.P.

I am a proud ETU member having joined in 2001 at the start of my apprenticeship. In 2015, I became the Gold Coast Senior Delegate within my workplace and prior to that I was the underground delegate.

Memorable campaigns I have contributed to were the 2017 “Not 4 Sale” campaign in which our Gold Coast based members focussed attention on the state seat of Gaven. In the 2019 General election we campaigned in Forde as part of the “Change the Rules“ campaign.

As a lifelong Currumbin resident I also supported Kaylee Campradt with her campaign for the Currumbin by-election and following State election.

Apart from workplace safety and workers rights, I am a strong supporter of environmental issues, particularly climate change and habitat destruction.
